Only if the version with a four-leaf clover green is possible, it will be made.
After a long teaser campaign, Alfa Romeo finally revealed the production-ready Tonale yesterday. The 2019 Geneva Motor Show was the first time it all began with a name-brand concept. Just over a year later, the showcar was unveiled at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. A report by Italian media claimed that the sub- Stelviomodel would not be given the Quadrifoglio treatment. It is possible that it will happen in the future to be able to fit above the warm Veloce trim.
The automaker’s global product manger Daniel Tiago Guzzafame spoke to Australian magazine . He said that the Tonale could be made into a faster derivative. When asked about Quadrifoglio’s prospects, he stated that the company has “some options, both in the pure thermal [gasoline engine] as well as in the electrification realm.” He cautioned, however, that the Quadrifoglio will only be possible if the performance is on par with the iconic logo’s sportiness.
He said that a Quadrifoglio version will be considered for every future Alfa Romeo model: “Quadrifoglio is sort of a brand within Alfa Romeo, an umbrella for all of our programs [model line]]. The potential of each segment and vehicle will determine whether a Quadrifoglio variant is offered for each program.
When asked whether the Tonale would use a combustion engine or an electrical motor, Guzzafame vaguely suggested that it would be the former. “Wherever we are going is the same as what we said before: The future Alfa Romeo would be electric.” Guzzafame also mentioned that the Tonale’s first EV would be available in 2024. The platform that underpins the crossover can accept a pure electric model. This could also happen.
It is believed that the first Alfa EV will be a smaller crossover. Some have suggested it will go by the name Brennero. The first electric-only model will be released in 2025. It can also accept ICE and EV configurations. Guzzafame stated that the global lineup would include only electric models by 2027. This means that the Tonale’s life expectancy is quite short.
