Evolution is not about revolution.
Land Rover’s recent redesigns show that their design language is very cautious. The 2023 Range Rover is a good example. It looks almost identical to its predecessor, but with a more interesting rear. The British automaker also influenced the second-generation Range Rover Evoque models and Discovery Sport.
Kolesa.ru had a go at rendering the next-generation Range Rover Sport using spy shots. This resulted in an SUV that is evolutionary rather than revolutionary. The digital redesign of the SUV saw slimmer grille and headlights, as well as a simplified LED signature. Instead of being separated in three spots, the bumper intakes now span the width of the vehicle.
The roof slopes slightly to the rear towards the sides as the previous model. The traditional clamshell-style hood is still visible, and the render includes Velar-style pop out door handles. Kolesa.ru also added the new wheels to the design, based on spy photos. The site claims that the future Range Rover Sport will feature a strip at the rear which houses the lights and garnish. In the render, you can also see the bumper-mounted license plate holder that was seen on the test car.
What do we know about the future SUV? The modified MLA-Flex platform will be used by the 2023 Range Rover Sport. The engine options for the 2023 Range Rover Sport will likely be identical to the big brother. This means that there will be a variety of mild-hybrid six cylinder gas and turbodiesel engines. The cars also include a plug-in hybrid and a twin turbo 4.4-liter V8 from BMW. This eight-cylinder engine might be what powers the SVR model.
Land Rover has not yet announced when the third-generation Range Rover Sport will be launched. We could see the debut of the third-generation Range Rover Sport before the end, however, as the car has less camouflage.
