Cobie Smulders appears at the last minute in a series of vignettes. It’s a man who is ill from a chemical spillage. The next scene is a western where a man sends his family to safety from the oncoming villains. Another scene features a woman trying to distract a monster. It’s a scene that recalls John Carpenter’s The Thing. A young man is seen riding in a taxi in the rain, while another woman rides away. This is expected to be a play on scenes of a variety romantic movies. But here, Smulders is picking up her son.
