The Hyper hatch will also get new lights.
2022 will be remembered as the year AMG installed a four-cylinder engine in the C63. This prototype also has the M139 unit, the world’s most powerful four cylinder mill. The prototype is an A45 facelift, captured between two testing sessions in northern Europe. It appears that the headlights are getting slimmer and taillight graphics are being updated.
The interior is missing the touchpad for the infotainment systems. We have noticed a bigger change. The facelifted model will likely lose the additional way to control the UX since the car has the production layout. The buttons around the touchpad have been removed. However, the rest of the controls have been moved forward just before the cupholders.
We don’t know if there will be any changes to the gasoline engine 2.0-liter. It already produces a huge 416 horsepower (310 kW) as well as 500 Nm (369lb-ft of torque) in the AMG A45S. However, it is unlikely that the C63 will get an electric turbocharger to go with the AMG One hypercar.
It is already more powerful than the 2.5 TFSI inline-five unit of the new Audi RS3. So it doesn’t have to lose its power crown. We don’t think a mild hybrid setup will be possible to reduce emissions. The engineers could give the baby AMG model 48V tech to provide a temporary power boost similar to the larger “53” models that have inline-six engines.
Mercedes will redesign the entire A-Class lineup in the coming months and won’t ship the sedan to the United States, where the body design is being dropped. The hatchback was not launched in the USA, leaving the CLA and the GLA crossover as the only cars for 2023.
