Drag Race: Can The Ferrari 812 Compete With The BMW M5CS?

The battle between supercar and sedan.

A super sedan can keep up with supercars in drag racing. Carwow has assembled some of the most powerful vehicles to compete in a drag race. The limited-edition BMW M5CS represents the world of super sedans. It elevates the M5’s performance to new heights. This high-stakes drag race features the Ferrari 812 as our supercar representative.

BMW’s M5 CS machine is among the most beautiful. Although we’ve seen the CS formula on other BMWs, this M5 is the first to receive this designation. The BMW CS treatment adds more power and reduces excess weight. It also optimizes the suspension and brakes for track use. This luxury sedan is capable of outperforming other sports cars on track.

The BMW M5 CSis powered by an upgraded version the M5 Competition’s twin turbo 4.4-liter V8 motor that produces 627 horsepower (467 Kilowatts), and 553 lb/ft (750 Newton meters) of torque. The M5 CS has the same 8-speed auto transmission as the regular M5. It also features an all-wheel drive system. BMW claims that the M5 CS can go from 0-60 mph in a mere 3.0 seconds.

The Ferrari 812 Superfast is the ultimate Ferrari, and it’s up against the BMW M5 CS. The 6.5-liter V12 engine of the Ferrari 812 Superfast produces 788 horsepower (587 Kilowatts), and 529 lb/ft (717 Newton meters) of torque. The power is sent to the rear wheels via a 7 speed dual-clutch transmission, which makes traction difficult. Ferrari claims a time of 2.7 seconds to get from 0-60 and a top speed at 211 mph.

Can the BMW M5 CS match the Ferrari F430? Let’s watch how this drag race between these speed titans goes on the drag strip.
