The vehicle’s value after five years can be a savings to the owner, regardless of whether they sell it or trade it in for a new car.
Kelley Blue Book‘s Best Resale Awards 2022 aims at providing a list that shows which vehicles retain the most value over five years. Car-shopping.com has listed ten of the top, and seven of them are trucks.
The new Toyota Tundra is at the top of the list, with 70.2 percent value even after five years. A $53,595 2022 Tundra Limited could sell for more than $37,000 if its owner decides to replace it with another truck.
The 2022 GMC Sierra follows the Tundra. It holds an average of 60.8 percent of its worth after five years, which is lower than the Tundra’s but still much higher than the industry average of 40 percent for five years.
KBB’s Best Resale Awards 2022 recognizes the Toyota Tacoma and Ford Maverick as well as the Ford Ranger, Ford Ranger and Ford Ranger pickups. These nameplates retain more than 50 percent of their value after 60 months.
KBB lists three vehicles that do not have beds. The Chevrolet Corvette is the most valuable vehicle on KBB’s list, holding 59.5 percent of its original value after five years. The Toyota 4Runner is next at 58.6 %, while the Tesla Model X follows at 57.6 %.
KBB’s top ten list of brands with highest resale values is Toyota. This title has been awarded to Toyota for the fifth consecutive year. Lexus, Toyota’s luxury arm is the leader in the category of luxury brands for the seventh consecutive year.
