Nearly every Camaro trim will have the Wild Cherry Design package.
We don’t know what the long-term prospects are for the Chevrolet Camaro. Rumours of cancellations were all overlastyear, but thanks to an Muscle cars & Trucks report, we now know more about the Camaro’s near future. This new edition of the Camaro is likely to be a special one for 2021. If you like red, this will probably be your favorite.
According to this report, Chevrolet is dropping the Shock and Steel package that was offered for 2020 models and will replace it with the Wild Cherry Design package. This information comes from Chevy fleet order guide, which was uncovered by the MC&T group. It lists two versions of the package. PDL is the first version. It includes black metallic stripes, polished 20-inch five-spoke wheels with Camaro logos on the wheel caps, Camaro floor mats and Camaro badges on the fender badges.
The order code PDN is assigned to the second package. This package includes all the above, but has a little more contrast trim. The fuel filler door is made of black with visible carbon insert. Carbon Flash Metallic ground effects and a center stripe in silver, black and metallic are also added to the car. The center console is finished with black suede kneepads.
The only way to get this package is to choose a Camaro with Wild Cherry Tintcoat as an exterior color. This package will be available on virtually every Camaro trim level, coupe and convertible, except for the ZL1 base model and ZL1. Chevrolet has not yet announced the pricing of the package or photos showing the pony car in its new cherry trim. These photos show a 2020 model in Garnet red.
This is the latest package that will be offered to the Camaro in its final years. Chevrolet did not confirm or deny rumors last year that the Mustang fighter would be discontinued after 2023, the end of the current model year. The potential death knell comes from falling Camaro sales over recent years with only 48,265 sales for the Bow Tie muscle-machine in 2019. The class-leading Mustang had 72,489 sales in comparison.
