Hennessey takes delivery of its Ford GT Heritage Supercar

Oh, Hennessey!

Hennessey Performance will be heard at the local Cars and Coffee. Heads will spin so fast that you’ll have to call the paramedics. Hennessey is known for taking already powerful vehicles and trucks and turning them into insane power. Normal is a car or truck with more than 1,000 horsepower. The Texan company considers anything less trivial. Hennessey now has a new Ford G, so the company may be able to use the supercar’s 647 horsepower and increase its performance.

It seems Hennessey received a 2018 Ford GT’67 Heritage edition. The video is delivered by a Ford technician. It shows the owner’s kit that includes the build checklist, photos and the Monroney. The window sticker includes a photo of each car. This makes each Monroney unique. The Heritage GT also included a car cover, seat covers and a carbon-looking bag with Ford Performance logos and GT logos.

The GT’67 Heritage edition has many unique features inside and outside the car. This package is inspired by the 1967 GT40, which Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt. Foyt. Included are twenty-inch aluminum wheels in silver satin finish. Red accent stitching is included on the steering wheel and seats, as well as red seat belt webbing and gray paddle shifters.

Ford will build the GT ’67 Heritage Edition cars in limited quantities but is not revealing exact numbers. Given that the GT’s overall production is limited to 1000 units over the next four year, it’s safe for us to assume only a few GT ’67 Heritage edition cars are built.

The heritage package adds visual cues. The powertrain still produces 647 horsepower and 550 pound-feet torque. It is driven by a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. The top speed is 216 mph.

But that’s just the car’s current performance. Hennessey may have a GT and those numbers could be much higher than Ford believed. Or just sane.
