A bumper-and-grille combination can be used to accommodate additional lighting and a winch.
Ford’s plans to revive the Bronco spanned more than just the SUV. F also launched a variety of accessories for off-roaders, giving customers the option to customize their Bronco. Ford has roof tents, pet harnesses and body protection. A new aftermarket product gives the SUV a scary-looking look (grille + bumper).
These combo pieces are very popular on the Jeep Wrangler. However, this Bronco is the first to have such a setup. A designer from Fabfours, which manufactures accessories for different trucks and SUVs, created the Bronco’s grumper. The combination grille-and bumper transforms the Bronco’s square-shaped face into something more angular, hard-edged and ready for the apocalypse. It also gives the Bronco more utility.
The designer posted in the Bronco6x Facebook Group that the grumper could accommodate additional lighting, a winch and the Bronco badge without affecting the adaptive cruise control or parking sensors. The grumper can also relocate the front camera. Although the Bronco’s grumper has not yet been listed on Fab Fours, it is available for purchase. However, other aftermarket bumpers and grille options are available.
Ford Bronco’s launch was not easy. The automaker had to struggle to get the SUV manufactured and delivered. The Blue Oval has not slowed down its plans to introduce new Bronco models. The Bronco Raptor was unveiled by Ford in January with more than 400 horsepower (294kilowatts) as well as other off-road goodies. Ford also introduced the Bronco Everglades. This saw engineers relocate key components and add a snorkel, 35 inch mud-terrain tires (10,000 lbs), heavy-duty bumpers and other goodies.
Ford created the Bronco to be easy to remove the body panels, roof, doors and roof. Ford, aftermarket companies and owners have more customization options. Although the Bronco’s grumper may not be to everyone’s liking, it isn’t necessary in an environment with so many options from Ford and other manufacturers.
