It will be unveiled in full later this spring.

The Ford GT Holman Moody Heritage Edition is the next special retro-themed model that will celebrate the supercar’s history. Three photos of the body in gold and accents are all that the company has so far. The debut will take place later in the spring.

This color scheme is inspired by the Holman-Moody GT40 race cars. In addition to campaigning them in motorsport, the company was also a key part of developing the 427-cubic-inch-engine-powered version of the GT40, along with Shelby American.

Holman-Moody drove three GT40s during the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Ford model finished third overall, with one of them finishing third.

The only thing that will likely change is the color and the finish of the wheels, based on the Ford GT Heritage Editions. These special edition models pay homage to some of the most notable GT40 vehicles.

The black and white ’66 Heritage Edition was the first. Ford then followed up with the red-and-white ’67 Heritage Edition. The orange Gulf model was next. One of the cars was dedicated to Ken Miles. Another black-and white car was to honor the GT40 prototype. The inspiration for the Holman Moody’s previous example was the Alan Mann Racing machine .

According to a recent rumor, Ford plans to finish production of the GT by the end 2022. According to reports, the supercar’s production total will be 1,350 units.

In 2021, rumors circulated that Ford was working on a faster version of its GT. Even spy photos showed the model’s development, with a scoop that directed air to the engine bay. Some speculation suggested that the GT send-off model might be powered by a V8 engine instead of the twin-turbo V6.

Ford has not confirmed any of these rumors.
