The usability and features of new car visualizers and configurators are varied. Some visualizers allow you to change the vehicle as you select new options. Others don’t. Pagani’s visualizer goes beyond choosing a few options or the trim color. The visualizer created by Pagani for the Huayra BC Roadster shows the build and creates an exciting video.
Although the HuayraBC Roadster doesn’t have a lot of options, it has a great exterior color selection. There are 51 options for primary colors, some with different finishes, as well as 18 secondary choices. There are four options for wheels, two colors of brake calipers (red and black), and the option to add a stripe. There are two color options. You can choose the leather color and trim inside, but not other options.
When you start playing with the background options, the configurator shines. The background scenery can be changed, which is a nice feature. However, the lighting changes as well, providing a visual representation of how the car might look under different lighting conditions. This is a great feature as lighting can have a huge impact on how a car’s exterior colors look. It’s not uncommon to see cars that are dark blue or black.
The best thing about the visualizer is its ability to create video. The video looks almost like B-roll footage, showing the car in all its details, including closeups of the engine, paint, wheels and interior according to the specification. The car is then put into motion, before taking a dramatic pose. This video is as close to the supercar as you can get. Pagani only makes 40 examples of this extreme roadster.
