See Countach, Ferrari 250 GTO and other priceless classics playing in snow

The International Concours of Elegance is a unique car show.

Winter months in northern hemisphere typically see car enthusiasts go hibernating during the winter. Then there’s Switzerland. There the snow is deep, and the well-to-do still want to cruise around the lake in sub-zero temperatures. You can also drive around the lake.

This is life in St. Moritz, an Alpine town where the event appropriately named The ICE takes place. ICE stands for International Concours of Elegance. Don’t let snow or cold temperatures scare you away. The 2022 event was held on February 26th, and the docket was filled with some of the most expensive cars in the world. You won’t believe us if you see these rare classics on Lake St. Moritz. Public. On snow.

After a two year break, 45 cars participated in the event. A Ferrari 250 GTO was also part of the fleet. Many vintage race cars of multiple types took to the lake, including Ferrari, Jaguar and Alfa Romeo. Italian production cars merged with American muscle and British elegance to create a slow-motion, opposite lock ballet. Although the Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta driver seemed a little reserved, considering the 789 horsepower and the $20 million price tag, it is understandable.

It’s a great sight to see a Lamborghini Countach launching snow roosters onto a frozen lake. But, keen car spotters will also notice other treasures. The video at the beginning of this article shows a black Ferrari Testarossa, which was built for Michael Jackson in late 1980s. The Ferrari convertibles are the 365 GTS/4. There were many Jaguars available, as well as a James Bond-spec Aston Martin DB5. We love the Mercs with skis on the boots – the silver Mercedes-Benz or the classic Mercury Cougar.

These cars are amazing. We could watch them all day. It almost makes it sad that winter is coming to an end. Almost.
