According to reports, it will join the lineup in 2021.
Last month’s strangely assembled long-wheelbase Cadillac HTML5. The American company is currently developing a new limousine based upon the XT5 cross-over. It could also be the return to the livery segment of the marque, which was vacated by the discontinuance of the CT6 sedan.
It turns out that it is an XT5-based hearingse. Cadillac Society We were able to obtain some information about the livery vehicle as well as its availability in the lineup of the automaker.
According to the Cadillac-centric publication the XT5 hearse is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four banger gasoline engine (LSY), which is available in both front-wheel or all-wheel drive configurations.
Cadillac will sell the XT5 hearse as an incomplete vehicle for the 2021 model-year. The VIN of the XT5 hearse starts with “1GE”. The VIN of the non-hearseXT5 begins with “1GY.” The hearse will then be available for upfitting by skilled workers. The spy images show that the XT5 hearse is likely to come in Luxury or Premium Luxury trims.
Although the addition of the XT5 hearse may not be official at this time, it is a sign that Cadillac is back in the professional livery segment. Cadillac used to offer the CT6 with a livery package. The last Caddy to have a hearse configuration, however, was the XTS. This line had a Professional Vehicles line, but it had ended production last year.
The XT5 hearse will be more prominent next year – if it is on the road.
