New spy video gives a fresh view of the GLEClass Coupe being tested in Germany. Despite the fact that concealment is not very obvious, engineers aren’t removing much camouflage.
The GLE Coupe, like the current generation of the SUV, takes a knife and cuts through the SUV’s bulky body to create a teardrop-shaped rear end. The model appears more like a sedan mounted on stilts than a stylish crossover. The Coupe has a more rounded roof, while the Coupe shares a similar front end.
Although not visible in the clip, spy shots from earlier years give a fantastic view of Coupe’s rear. Although the hatchback’s opening is small, the resculpted tail makes it appear almost like the rear has a tiny trunk lid. The curvaceous appearance of the vehicle is reflected in the rounded taillights. The bumper incorporates the trapezoidal exhaust outlets.
The coupe’s interior should be very similar to the standard . The instrument and infotainment screens are located on the sides of the coupe. The main differences would be at back, where the revised roofline would impact occupant headroom as well as total cargo capacity.
Powertrains would also be available straight from the GLEClass. European buyers will be able to purchase a diesel engine and a 450 4Matic trim that features a mild-hybrid turbocharged 3.0-liter Inline-Six. Spy shots have already confirmed that the range-topping 63 has a twin-turbo, 4.0-liter V8. The mill can also offer up to 630 horsepower (470 kW) depending on how it is tuned.
The GLE Coupe will not be brought by Mercedes to the New York Auto Show. The GLE Coupe will not be made public at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. However, an online unveiling may take place sooner.
