Is he more fond of it than his 1967 GT GT?
In October, it was revealed that the reborn Ford Mustang Mach 1 would soon be available for sale in global markets. Soon after, it was revealed that the Mustang Mach 1 would be sold in global markets without the pony cars. The British Mach 1 produces 453 horsepower (338 Kilowatts) as well as 390 pound-feet (529 Nm) of torque. This is down from the 480 hp (353kW) and 420lb-ft (569Nm) in the States.
A self-confessed Mustangfan and motoring journalist, Hammond recently had the opportunity to drive the new Mach 1. Hammond took his 1967 GT to Dunton Wayletts, where a black-and orange-striped Mach 1 was waiting. He answered many questions from fans during the drive. However, for reasons that should have been obvious, he did not have much to share about the ‘Stang’s fuel economy. That was one of the questions.
What’s the takeaway from this video? The new Mach1 has a lot to love. The Mach 1 is a combination of the Bullitt, GT350 and Mach 1 in Ford’s lineup. The Mach 1 is the spiritual successor to all steeds, with the same modified 5.0-liter V8 as the Bullitt. It also borrows parts from the GT350 and GT500 to improve handling. And, since the GT350 was never exported to the UK, Mach 1 is the most-handling factory Mustang ever to grace Britannia.
The question that you all want to know is whether Hammond crashed. He does have a tendency for losing control, and Mustangs love to get rogue. Although he isn’t actually crashing, he gives us a glimpse into the life behind the wheel. The car will be available in dealerships in the US and Canada by the spring 2021. It should be available for purchase in the spring of 2021 by our friends across the pond.
