Our spy team managed to capture the Opel Agila’s next generation and the American sibling, the Chevrolet Spark. Opel will sell the Agila in Europe, while Chevrolet will market the Spark in the United States. This prototype is the Spark with its red license plates. The one with black plates is Opel. The rear door handles for the Spark will be located near the C-pillar, while those for the Agila will be mounted at the Agila.
The two models will likely share the same platform. They will reportedly be offered with an all-aluminum, 3-cylinder 1.0 liter ECOTEC Direct Injection Turbo gasoline motor taken from the Adam. It produces 90 PS (66 kW), and 115 PS(85 kW). The engine was built in Germany and has a maximum torque output of 166 Nm (122 Lb-ft) at 1,800 rpm. The Opel Agila and Chevrolet Spark duo of the next generation are expected to be released sometime next year.
