There was also a three-way tug-of war at the end.

Drag racing is one of Carwow’s most popular activities. This time, however, the drag races are taking a break to allow for a tug of war match. This round is all about full-sized American pickups, specifically the Chevrolet Silverado and Ford F-150. These three options represent the three possible power sources for these load-luggers.

The Chevrolet Silverado LTZ Z71 represents the classic, large-capacity V8 gasoline engine. Carwow had the older generation on hand for this test. It has the L86 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces 420 horsepower (313 Kilowatts) as well as 460 pound-feet (624 Newton meters) of torque. The factory towing weight is up to 12,500 lbs (5.667 kg).

The previous-generation Ford F-150 Raptor is waving the flag for turbo power. The Raptor’s twin-turbo V6 of 3.5-liters produces 450 horsepower (690 Newton-meters), and 510 poundfeet (690 kilowatts). This engine is the same as the current model. The Raptor’s towing capacity is rated as 8,000 pounds (3.629 kilograms). This figure is considerably lower than the 13,200-pound (5.987-kilograms) standard model. It will be interesting to see how the Raptor overcomes this disadvantage.

Carwow was able to obtain the Ram pick up, which is the final contender. It’s the 3500 that has the high-output version 6.7-liter inline-six turbodiesel. This diesel model has 420 horsepower (313 Kilowatts) as well as 1,075 pound feet (1,458 Newton meters) of torque. Its towing capacity of 37,090 lbs (16.824 kilograms) is undoubtedly the highest of the trio due to all of that torque.

Despite the F-150 Raptor’s lower towing capacity, the Silverado Z71 pulled closer than expected. The Ram 3500’s torque allowed it to drag both trucks in the match. Carwow connected the Silverado as well as the F-150 to the Ram in order to see if they could still win. The rest of the video will not be spoilt, but we will say that the Ram put up quite a fight.
