Cadillac Escalade V Spy Video Shows SUV Testing in The Mountains

It should be equipped with a supercharged V8 under its hood.

Cadillac Escalade is in high demand, with the average price of the luxury SUV reaching six figures earlier this year. Cadillac will add a V-powered variant to its lineup, which we tested earlier in the year. TFLtruck has released a new spy video that shows the SUV in action again. It looks a lot more ready to go for production.

Although the SUV still has a lot of camouflage and thick cladding, it is difficult to disguise the Escalade’s distinctive boxy shape. Although the video doesn’t show much, it does reveal that it is a lot more complete than we last saw. The quad-exhaust system now features proper tips to clean up the rear bumper design. Although the outline of the Cadillac shield is still visible, the tape covering the wheel centers caps attempts to conceal it. We believe the Escalade V will be distinguished from the non-V version by the unique body panels.

Although the video shows a hint at the exhaust note, it is too short to be useful. The SUV will likely use GM’s supercharged 6.2 liter LT4 engine that powers the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and the Cadillac CT5 V Blackwing. The Blackwing’s engine produces 668 horsepower (498 Kilowatts) as well as 659 pound-feet (893 Newton meters) of torque. Cadillac is likely to tune the engine with a particular tune, which could make it produce a little less power. For example, the Camaro’s engine produces 650 horsepower (484 kW).

Cadillac has not yet revealed the date for the debut, but we would guess it will be sometime next year. The 2023 model will arrive in 2023. We expect a premium interior, which builds on the Escalade’s most recent luxuries. It will also have a comfortable ride due to its independent rear suspension with Magnetic Ride Control.
