You can sleep up to four people in the room.
Renault will update its Trafic SpaceNomad camper, which is made in-house. This will add more equipment and make it available to France and Belgium. This product was previously only available in Switzerland.
A pop-up roof on the Trafic SpaceNomad allows for enough space to stand inside. It also has an LED light that illuminates the cabin. You can also charge your devices with the USB ports. Campers can lower the extra bed by raising the top. This allows the vehicle to sleep up to four persons.
A solar panel is also installed on the roof. The solar panel charges an auxiliary battery, which powers the fridge, water pump, lights, and other appliances. Renault claims that this battery will typically last 48 hours, but the solar cells can extend this up to 72 hours.
SpaceNomad’s cabin has a kitchenette that includes a stovetop and sink. It also features a fridge of 12.94 gallons (49 liters). For those who wish to join in on the action from the back, the front seats can swivel. The rear seat can be folded into a bed. There are also 66.04 gallons (250 Liters) of storage space.
A 43-square-foot (4-meter) awning is available for outdoor enjoyment. The portable table can be set up inside or outside of the vehicle by travelers. A showerhead can be attached to the outside of the van.
Renault constructs a standard Trafic at their factory in Sandouville (Normandy), France, to produce the SpaceNomad. It is then shipped to Pilote, who will outfit the van as a campervan. This includes installing the solar panel and pop-up roof. This plant will be upgraded to produce 200 vehicles per month.
Renault presented the first version of the SpaceNomad (gallery atop) at the 2021 Dusseldorf Motor Show. This version did not include the solar panel. There were two length options available, with space for four or five people. You could choose from engines with 110 horsepower (82kilowatts), to 170 HP (127 kW) options. An automatic gearbox was available for the 150 hp (112kW) and 170 HP variants. Safety features included active emergency brake, lane departure warning, blind-spot warning, and driver monitoring.
