Give it a try. When you actually see it in action, it makes a lot more sense.
The video below shows a truck, but it’s not an ordinary truck. The front of the truck has a plain frame, and the cab can be found at the rear. Although it looks confusing, we found that the vehicle was purpose-built.
This customized truck can be used to launch and transport seaplanes. These trucks are used to transport wheelless flying machines into water. The truck can tow, push and haul the winged people-mover, as the truck’s bare frame has hydraulic parts that latch onto the plane’s frame. The video below shows the truck in action. Converting trucks into seaplane launchers is a smart idea, considering their towing capacity. The bed can be removed to reduce weight and retain the power of the stock engine.
These strange-looking trucks are quite common in Alaska, where seaplanes are very popular. We don’t know if they are highway-legal, but we’d bet they are. This one is at least out of the way. It’s a strange vehicle with a purpose. We wish we could say the exact same thing about the tire-smoking and backward F150 and Lada , a 14-wheeled Lada. It’s difficult to ignore fun in all its forms.
