It’s today, people. We are about to witness the dawning of a new age. Porsche The production-ready Taycan has been revealed by Zuffenhausen-based sportscar marque. The Mission E concept, Germany’s answer to the Ford Mustang, was first shown four years ago. Tesla Model S In just a few hours, we will see the electric sedan in its true form without the deceiving camouflage.

Although the Taycan has been subject to a lengthy teaser campaign there are still many things we don’t know about this zero-emissions Porsche. The next batch of teaser photos shows the sleek LED headlights, which bear a striking resemblance with the 2015 showcar. The images were taken during a photoshoot right before the big debut. They allow us to see the details of the design.

History has shown us that a road-going production car is rarely as exciting as a concept. The Taycan sedan looks great, according to the Porsche France images. We can see the 911 influence in the sloping roofline.

The futuristic interior of the car has been shown in large part, including the numerous touchscreens at the rear and front. The instrument cluster is a 16.8-inch curved screen. It’s accompanied by a 10.9 inch touchscreen and a smaller 8.4 inches touch panel lower on the console. The touchscreen is available to the front passenger as well as the optional four-zone automatic temperature control. For those in the back, a 5.9-inch touch screen is included.

The EV from Stuttgart will be available in high-end trims with dual electric motors, all wheel drive and all-wheel steering. The EV will produce well over 600 horsepower and 750 pound-feet (1.017 Newton-meters), of torque in 2.5 seconds. It will have supercar acceleration, despite being a heavy car.

Although there are many contradicting reports on range, Porsche has stated that the car will travel “over 500 km” (310 miles). We’ll need to wait to see the complete reveal to find out what that number means, as we don’t know if it’s based upon NEDC or WLTP. As it is known that NEDC is too optimistic, it would be reasonable to expect the real-world range being lower if it is the first scenario.
