Jeep Easter Safari: Gladiator and Model Wrangler Teased

It could be a modern vehicle that evokes the CJ-8 Scrambler.

The latest teaser video for the vehicle that will be part of the Jeep Easter Safari is intriguing because it mentions the mixing of two models, the Wranglerand the Gladiator. The image that follows doesn’t give away the secret.

Imagine combining two powerful off-roaders such as the Jeep Wrangler or Jeep Gladiator. Imagine if a truck could be more like an SUV in order to increase its departure angle. This year’s Easter Jeep Safari will feature the latest Jeep concept. It redefines what the ultimate terrain conqueror can be. The vehicle delivers a lot of four-wheeling confidence as well as open-air freedom.

The teaser image (above) shows a glimpse at what appears to be the cargo bed at its back. The front of the truck has a prominent scoop hood and vents on its sides. The truck is equipped with off-road-capable tires and appears to have a suspension that sits higher than stock. There are no doors.

We are tempted to wonder if this truck has a better departure angle than the CJ-8 Scrambler of the 1980s. The model was based on the CJ-7, but it had a very small bed. This resulted in a vehicle that was more maneuverable than a full-size pickup, but had a smaller carrying capacity.

Three other vehicles were teased by Jeep for the Easter Safari this year. They were more mysterious than the Wrangler (or Gladiator) presentations. One displayed the front end a blue Grand Cherokee without any significant modifications.

Another teaser featured a partial QR code that looked like a Gladiator. This one is even more mysterious.

Jeep may also be teasing a 20th anniversary edition of the Wrangler Rubicon. The teaser photo is only of the vehicle’s front hood, with the “20” superscript over the “Rubicon”. The front fender appears to also have the emblem 392 and the American flag.

The Jeep Easter Safari 2017 will take place from April 9 to 17. There might be a few more teasers, but we don’t have to wait too long to see what else the brand has in store for us.
