However, the Bavarian firm will not retire the name and will transfer it to a new electric sedan that it is currently developing in China. This vehicle, at least for those outside China, gives us an excellent early glimpse at the new BMW 3 Series. This vehicle is currently in development , and is currently undergoing winter testing in Northern Europe. Although the solid grilles of the hybrid and combustion-powered models will differ, they should be similar.
The single distant shot shows that the 3 Series will get a pair of new headlights and reshaped LED daytime running lamps. New air openings will be added at the sides and front bumper. This car is an electric 3 Series version. It rides on EV-specific wheels that have a closed design to improve aerodynamics.
The new leak suggests that the BMW i3 sedan may be nearing completion. We should see the BMW i3 sedan in its final form soon. However, we believe that BMW will delay the release of its successor until at least the i3 hatchback is out of production. This would avoid confusion for its customers.
