However, this is not official.
Audi unveiled its Etron GT concept one year ago at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show. It received positive feedback from media and fans for its all-electric coupe-styled car. The E-Tron Sportback was unveiled by the Germans earlier this week. Next year, we will be able to see the production version at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
According to Autocar We spoke with Mark Lichte, the brand’s design director, at this year’s LA show. Although he couldn’t give any details about Audi’s plans, the brand’s design director Mark Lichte stated that “in one year here we will show our coupe.” This is what our British colleagues consider a strong hint that the stylish and emission-free sedan will become a production model for next years’ LA show.
Audi plans to launch the E-Tron Sportback in Europe in spring 2020, with a starting price of PS71,350. It is safe to assume that first deliveries to customers of the four-door E-Tron GT will begin in spring 2021, given these plans. This assumption is based on the current model release strategy of Audi Ingolstadt and is not confirmed.
The E-Tron GT will roughly match the A7’s size. It will have a similar sleek body shape to today’s A7, and a sporty side profile with a shorter front overhang. This will give it a more aggressive look. The GT concept, which was revealed last year, has a flat-floor design with a 90-kWh battery that covers the entire underfloor between the axles. Under WLTP testing, the prototype’s range is approximately 250 miles (400 km). The prototype’s maximum output is 582 horsepower (434 Kilowatts).
“The acceleration doesn’t matter. “It’s being able reproduce that acceleration five six, seven times,” Stefan Holischka, Audi Sport product marketing manager, stated about the vehicle earlier in the year.
