It combines the XL trim and the FX4 package.
Ford recognizes that variety is the best thing in life, and has continued to expand its F-150 range to meet the needs of a wider customer base. Blue Oval offers the Tremor, Raptor off-road trims. One costs $52,000 while the other is $68,675. The new-for-2023 Rattler is the entry-level XL, which will be upgraded with off-road goodies.
The skid plates were taken from the FX4 package, where it also inherited an electronic locking rear differential. Ford adds the hill descent control system to make it easier to tackle more difficult roads. The Rattler is equipped with all-terrain tires, which enhances its ability to go anywhere.
The F-150 Rattler’s interior features bronze accents on the upholstery and stitching for its instrument panel. Ford’s idea of offering a base truck with an optional off-road upgrade is a great one. It should help Ford attract buyers that don’t require all the features of the Tremor or can’t afford it.
We can guess at the price, though it has not been disclosed. The XL is priced at $29990, but the $1,005 FX4 On-Road Package adds the XL High Equipment Group and Regular Cab body styles, as well as the 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine. After adding the $1,695 destination fees, the total comes to $39,860. The Rattler will not have all the FX4 content so logic says it’ll be less expensive.
Ford claims that the 2023 F-150 Rattler will be available for sale in the fall and pricing details will follow. The truck will, hopefully, not live up to its name in literal meaning.
