Silverstone: Watch Aston Martin Valkyrie hit the Wall

We would love to know how much it will cost.

Are you having a bad day? You can enjoy the schadenfreude of an Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar driver kissing the wall while slapping Silverstone. Although it’s not a serious hit, any damage to a vehicle with a estimated asking value of $3.2million is significant.

Adam Christodoulou, race car driver, has provided the video. The Valkyrie is just around the corner as he stands along Silverstone’s wall. The tail comes free. The slide is caught by the person at the wheel, but the tail goes around the other direction.

Everything would have been perfect if the track was a bit wider. But, it’s not. You can hear the stuttering crunch as the rear ends come into contact with the wall if you listen to the audio.

Christodoulou was asked about the damage in an Instagram thread. He replied, “apparently just some rear quarter bodywork and brown drivers seats.”

Aston Martin finally delivered its first Valkyrie in November 2021 after years of development. The company intends to produce 150 copies of its standard model, 85 copies for the open-roof Spider and 40 units of the track-only AMR Pro version.

Standard version of the Valkyrie has a Cosworth-built, 6.5-liter V12 engine that revs at 11,000 rpm. It also features a Rimac-sourced hybrid system which produces 1,139 horsepower (850kilowatts). It can travel 60 mph (96 km/h) in 2.5 seconds. The machine also has a top speed of well over 200 mph (322 KPH) . It takes approximately 2,000 man-hours for each car to be produced.

The Valkyrie Spider is a different design. It has dropped the hardtop’s gullwing door in favor of one with a dihedral opening. Open-air driving is possible with the two removable roof panels. This variant of the coupe’s powertrain can still reach 205 mph (330 km/h).

Although the AMR model does not have the hybrid system, the V12 still produces 1,000 horsepower (746 kW) The modified body generates twice the downforce of the road car and allows for greater than 3G of lateral acceleration.
