Gordon Murray T.50 Sounds Better Than Ever Leading V10 F1 Cars At Goodwood
To be noticed while driving through a parade of Formula One-era V10 cars at Goodwood’s 79th Members’ Meeting, a vehicle must be unique. The Gordon Murray Automotive T.50 is the ideal vehicle to do the job with its powerful V12 engine.
The T.50 is seen rolling out of the paddock at the beginning of the clip. The rear deck has a small light bar with flashing lights. If you pay attention, it will be visible. The car immediately sounds amazing as it drives onto the track.
The sound quality of smartphones speakers is not up to the mark. Use headphones to make the sound real.
The video can switch between two camera angles. Sometimes the viewer looks backwards. Sometimes, the Formula One cars can be seen right behind the T.50. Other times, the supercar is invisible to the old racers.
You can also see inside the cabin. The camera is located next to the steering wheel, and points slightly upwards towards the driver. You can see the driver rowing through the gears. The view is large enough. A person with a radio can be found in the left-side passenger’s seat.
The T.50 is powered by a Cosworth-designed, naturally aspirated V12 with 4.0 Liters of displacement. The engine produces 654 horsepower and 344 pound-feet (467 Newton meters) of torque. The redline runs at an alarming 12,100 rpm. Gordon Murray Automotive claims that the engine is light at 392 pounds (177.2 kilograms).
Another thing that makes T.50 unique is the fan it uses to improve aerodynamics. The piece spins at 7,000 rpm using a 48-volt electric motor. This is combined with active rear spoilers or diffusers to increase downforce up to 50 percent in normal driving and 100 percent in Braking mode.
Gordon Murray Automotive will produce 100 units of the T.50 standard. The company will also make 25 units for the track-only Niki Lauda Model. The model will produce as much as 725 horsepower (541 kW) with a weight reduction of 1,872 pounds (852 kg).
