The SUV’s large exterior got a fresh face and an updated interior.
For the model year 2023, the BMW X7 received a major redesign. The exterior of the large SUV was redesigned, with minor changes at the rear and an interior overhaul. Domagoj Duc, the BMWBlog’s chief design officer, is on camera to talk about the changes in styling.
The biggest change in the front is the switch to a split-headlight design. This will be effective for 2023. According to Dukec splitting the headlight design allowed BMW more freedom in styling the X7’s front end. Daytime running lights, on the other hand, are more functional than headlights. They allow BMW to establish a brand image by placing more styling elements at the top of the vehicle and fewer functional ones below.
BMW wanted the grille to appear smaller than the previous model’s. However, it is not physically smaller. The new grille is visually different. It measures the same as the old one but has a new illumination. There were subtle changes to the rear, such as darkened taillights and new chrome trim hidden behind a piece glass. BMW also increased the wheel size to 23 inches for the X7.
BMW completely redesigned the dash inside, replacing the old layout with the brand-new, large-curved screen. This switch reduces the number of buttons on the BMW, but it dramatically improves technology with iDrive8. New vents and instrument panels are part of the X7’s new design.
Although the video does not mention power, the X7 hybridizes both the SUV’s powertrains. With the 48-volt mild hybrid assist, the base 3.0-liter inline-6 now produces 375 horsepower (279 Kilowatts) as well as 383 poundfeet (519 Newton meters) of torque. The same system is used in the 4.4-liter twin turbocharged V8, but it produces the same 523 horsepower (390 kW), and 553 lbft (749 Nm).
The X7 is the flagship model for the brand. This redesign will make it feel new and help it stand out. The SUV’s new front fascia is bold and modern, while the interior has been redesigned to give it a contemporary feel.
