A new teaser image was also shared by the company.
Renault will soon unveil a new concept car. It is an internal combustion engine-powered car powered by hydrogen. This concept car will be unveiled at ChangeNOW 2022 in Paris, France, on May 19, 2022 at 9:00 AM CET (3:00 AM EST).
First revealed at the 2021 Financial Results Conference by Renault Group, the hydrogen-combustion car concept was unveiled in February. It is said to be “embodying the Group’s sustainable development vision” and its commitments.
A teaser showing the concept’s frontend, which shows the lighting elements, was released as the first announcement. It was made a few months back (see the image at top of this page). The company has now released a teaser that is revealing too much. The updated image features Renault’s illuminated badge displayed by the concept’s windows.
We want to emphasize that Renault’s idea is not another electric vehicle powered with hydrogen fuel cells, like the Toyota Mirai. It will use an internal combustion engine, but it will be fuelled with hydrogen rather than conventional fossil fuels.
Renault’s concept is essentially the same as Toyota’s latest development with the Yaris and the Corolla. The cars are and powered by a turbocharged, 1.6-liter three-cylinder engine which consumes hydrogen. It’s also the same engine that powers the Toyota GR Yaris.
In a month, we’ll be able to see what Renault’s hydrogen combustion concept car has to offer. We’re expecting a surprise from Renault’s hydrogen-combustion concept car, which the company has stated before.
ChangeNOW, the largest global event dedicated to the planet’s environment, is worth noting. From May 19-21, 2022, it will be held at the Grand Palais Ephemere, Paris, and the Eiffel Tower.
