Paul Walsh, McLaren Group Executive Chairman, stated that Walsh’s industry leadership experience and passion for engineering and the future will be a great asset to our team as we enter a new decade.

McLaren, like other supercar manufacturers, is trying to navigate a changing industry. McLaren is about to launch its hybrid supercar, the Artura. The company promises that deliveries will start very soon. McLaren is not immune to supply chain problems that affect the rest of the industry. It was delayed by a shortage of computer chips.

The Artura is the brand’s first series production hybrid. It combines an electric motor and a twin-turbocharged, 3.0-liter V6 to produce 671 horsepower (500kilowatts) as well as 593 pound-feet (804 Newton meters) of torque. Leiter’s appointment as CEO comes just weeks after rumors surfaced that McLaren is working with BMW on an electric car platform.
