It will replace the M Performance X6 and M50i.
We have seen prototypes of the new BMW X6 in regular and M form. Today we have new spy photos of the coupe-SUV from Bavaria. This time we can also take a look at the new addition to this lineup. The gallery below shows the new X6 M60i. It will replace the X6 M50i and be the top-of-the-line model in the lineup, positioned just below the full-featured X6 M.
This prototype almost looks like a standard. X6From the forthcoming LCI series. Under the camouflage, the front end conceals slimmer headlights. We expect new graphics for the lighting cluster. We don’t know if the grilles will get larger, but there may be some changes to the lower portion of the bumper.
The rear of this test car shows the current model’s taillights. However, we know that the facelifted HTML6 will have new LED taillights. The new X6 M60i will have small modifications to the rear bumper. Also, the exhaust finishers will be slightly different.
Under the hood is where the biggest changes are made to the M Performance model. The successor to the X6M50i will be replaced by the S68 4.4-liter V8 twin turbo engine. This engine is identical to that found under the X7M60i. Standard features include all-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic gearbox. We expect the output to reach 530 horsepower (390kilowatts).
The X6 LCI cabin will now be equipped with BMW’s new iDrive 8 infotainment system. It features a coast to coast screen that is housed in one curved glass piece. The latest technology from Munich is now available for several BMW models, including the X7 Coupe and the 2 Series Coupe.
The facelifted X6 is not yet scheduled for release, but we expect it to debut in all forms – M Performance, regular, and M – towards the end this year.
