The sedan can now accelerate to 62 mph in just 3.3 seconds. The wagon takes 0.1 seconds longer.
The new tuning program by Brabus is a big boost in power for the Mercedes-AMG. It produces 88 horsepower (65kilowatts). After extensive testing on public roads and racetracks, the company developed an easy-to-use auxiliary control unit that upgrades the electronic engine controller unit and adds new mapping for ignition and injection.
Brabus engineers have increased the power output of the 4.0-liter biturbo-V8 unit to 700 hp (515kW). The torque has also been increased from 627 to 701 lb-ft (625 Newton-meters) to 900 Nm. The power is channeled to all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic gearbox with 4Matic system. It accelerates from a standstill up to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.2 seconds for sedan and 3.3 for station wagon.
All E63 models have a fully stainless exhaust system that features electronically controlled flaps for sound control. The driver can choose a “Coming home” mode, which activates a more civilized and friendly exhaust note for urban use.
Brabus also offers a complete aerodynamic body kit made from carbon fiber that is extremely light and strong. You can choose between a high-gloss protective coating or a matte one. The kit includes a front spoiler lip and bumper with larger air intakes. It also has a rear spoiler, diffuser, and rear spoiler. The package includes custom-made wheels up to 21 inches in diameter and many different designs.
The tuning company promises an “infinite” variety of interior colors, with unlimited customization possibilities. Brabus will exhibit a Brabus example in Frankfurt with a two-tone black-red all leather interior. Also seen in the attached photos.
Brabus 700 is available as a complete vehicle or an option for experts to modify any E63 to achieve a specific level of tuning.
