Dodge boss claims that something is holding back the unveiling of the EV concept.
According to an interview with Muscle cars & Trucks, Tim Kuniskis, Dodge brand boss wants to reveal the marque’s electric muscle car concept before the Speed Week that precedes the Woodward Dream Cruise. However, there is a mystery factor that could prevent the unveiling.
It will happen sooner than expected. Kuniskis stated that he hopes that the car will be available for you to see before Speed Week.
Although it’s unclear what is holding them back, the issue seems to be a major one. “There is one very important thing that has to do with [the reveal], and it’s not within my control. It’s outside our industry quite frankly. I want the two of them to be together when you see this car. He said Muscle Cars and Trucks that he didn’t want it to be done in a disjointed manner.
The concept electric motor car is an early preview of the model’s production version that will be arriving in 2024, according to previous details. This vehicle’s purpose is to attract new customers to Dodge’s performance car while keeping the existing fans.
According to Dodge, engineers plan to create a vehicle which would be comparable against the Tesla Model S Plaid. The electric muscle car could reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in just two seconds.
Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares described the Dodge electric muscle car as having a “sound you cannot imagine.” The vehicle is also described as “something that’s shocking.”
Dodge’s teaser of the model featured the old-school triangular fratzog emblem. The styling incorporated elements from the late 1960s, early ’70s Challenger, and Charger. Video of the vehicle highlighted an all-wheel drive burnout. This indicates an electric motor to power each axle.
Dodge plans to sell the production-spec muscle car alongside the combustion-powered vehicles, at least for a while.
