Dacia Jogger Performs as Expected for a Budget Car in The Moose Test

It’s not terrible, but it’s not great.

The official debut of the Dacia Jogger was made last September at the 2021 IAA in Munich. The Dacia Jogger is the most affordable seven-seater car currently on the European market. It offers a combination of a wagon and crossover as well as a van. Although it is not the most dynamic, it can still meet the basic requirements of modern vehicles in terms of road behavior.

The km77 channel on YouTube recently gave the seven-seater wagon from Romania a spin around cones in what’s now called the “moose test”. This test is used to assess how well a vehicle can evade an obstacle suddenly appearing. It is passed when the car moves along the route at 48 miles per hour (77 km per hour) and does not hit any cones.

However, the Jogger doesn’t reach this speed. The Jogger’s best speed is 43 mph (70 km/h), which is considerably slower than other modern vehicles. The vehicle is unable to fit the cones at the end of the section at speed 43 mph (70 kph).

The second video features the seven-seater doing an slalom round the cones. It takes 26.6 seconds to register, almost the same time as the Skoda Fabia. The car is still stable, but the 1.0-liter engine of the three-cylinder engine does not provide enough power to propel the large vehicle.

At 4,55m (179 inches), the Jogger is the longest model in Dacia’s range. The cargo volume of the Jogger is 708 liters (25 cube feet). If you remove the second row, it expands to 1,819 Liters (64.23 cuft). The Jogger is currently available with only two three-cylinder engines. However, a four-cylinder hybrid powertrain will be added to the range in the next year.
