You can either wait for the next model or opt for the Raptor, which is the most desirable Raptor.
Ford has closed its order books for the F-150 2022 model year. One F-150 Generation 14 Forum user obtained a dealer-sent memo indicating that the order for the 2022 Ford F-150 model year was closed on May 13, 2022. This was due to high customer demand. The company will now “focus on existing orders.”
We all know that the supply chain problems currently affecting America’s top-selling model have led to several production delays.
The F-150’s entire lineup is not affected by the ordering pause. Only the XL, XLT and Lariat trims will be affected by the directive to stop accepting orders. However, one can still order a 2022 Ford F-150 Raptor.
The memo stated that the pause applies only to gasoline-powered hybrid trucks. But, it is worth noting that Ford has removed the Power Stroke Diesel engine. Ford has not confirmed that the oil-burner is available for the F-150.
People who want to purchase a Ford F-150 might have to wait until the next model year. According to the memo, the ordering banks for 2023 would open in July. They can also order the new 2022 Ford F-150 Rattler which will be available in Fall 2022.
They can also order the Ford Raptor top-spec, as we mentioned previously. It is important to note that the current Raptor does not include the BlueCruise technology due to software problems.
According to the dealer memo, further details on the 2023 F-150 will come out at a later time. We expect information about the 2023 model years to be available sooner than expected, even if the ordering books for next model year open in July.
