Brabus can transform an already extravagant SUV into something even more luxurious. The AMG G63 is not a sport utility vehicle anymore, but a pickup. The Bottrop tuner introduced in 2020 the 800 Adventure XLP. If this makes you feel like you are going back to the beginning, that’s because it is. The wild truck is back and packs a bigger punch than ever before. Its predecessor had 789 horsepower, which was a very low power output.
The V8’s displacement has been increased to 4.4 liters, while the turbochargers were replaced by Brabus’ pair. The pickup conversion had a longer wheelbase so a custom exhaust system was needed. The wild truck now produces a powerful 888 HP (662 kW) as well as 922 lbft (1.250 Nm) thanks to the overhauled engine. To ensure that the drivetrain lasts, torque is electronically limited to 774 lb/ft (1.050 Nm).
The larger engine means that the G63 can go from 0 to 60 mph (100 km/h), in as little time as 4.4 seconds, and reach a maximum speed of 130 mph (220 km/h) thanks to the all-terrain tires. Brabus’ 22-inch forged wheels are covered by the Pirelli Scorpion ATR rubber, measuring 325/55 R22. The striking red accents are housed in the bulging fender flares that have an exposed carbon fiber finish.
After installing portal axles, the 900 XLP has a remarkable ground clearance of 19.2 inches (49 cm) and is truly a go-anywhere vehicle. Brabus increased the width of the body by 4.6 inches (11.6 cm), while the overall length has risen to 209 inches (5.31 meters), or 27.1 inches (68.9 cm) higher than before. The winch can pull up to 9,921 lbs (4.500 kg) and is perfect for those who like numbers.
The entire package is expensive, even though it’s not in high demand. This is especially true when you consider the limited availability. Brabus 900 XLP “One of Ten”, is available for EUR658,625 (or nearly $690,000.) Current exchange rates make it an expensive option.
