Ford Ranger Raptor Special Edition Builds Upon A Winning Formula

All show, no extra go.

The Ford Ranger sold 42,941 units last year and was Europe’s most-sold truck. It trails the Toyota Hilux, which had 25,331 deliveries. A limited-edition Ranger model is being launched to celebrate the pickup’s success. It is based on the Ranger Raptor trim. To ensure exclusivity, the Ranger Raptor Special Edition will only be made in limited quantities. It is a visual package that adds aesthetic upgrades to the Ranger Raptor’s already well-known Ranger Raptor. It will be sold by Ford across Europe beginning in October. The most striking visual upgrade is the pair of matte black racing stripes with red contrast lines that run from the roof through the hood to the lower body sides, rear wings and tailgate. The larger wheel arches and the rear bumpers, door handles and radiator grille are all finished in matte black. Meanwhile, the front tow hooks and front bumpers are in a contrasting color.

The Ranger Raptor Special Edition will come in a range of exterior colors. You can choose from Conquer Grey, Performance Blue, or Frozen White. The performance truck’s cabin feels sportier due to the red stitching on the instrument panel, steering wheel and door cards. A model-exclusive leather upholstery is available, as well as a Raceway Grey instrument panel. The chassis and powertrain are unchanged, but that isn’t bad news considering the Ranger Raptor has a 150 mm wider track than a regular Ranger and a 51 mm higher ride height. The truck’s engine is a 2.0-liter twin turbo EcoBlue diesel engine mated with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
