The livestream begins at 1:30 PM EDT/ 10:30 AM PDT.
The new F150 Lightning seems to be off to a good start. Ford’s Lightning production plan was redesigned in response to strong demand. The goal was to produce 150,000 Lightnings per year. However, all Lightnings have been sold for their first model year. Ford’s Rouge Complex in Dearborn will be the site of manufacturing. This special livestream event to celebrate Lightning’s launch will be held there. The celebration will include employees, customers, UAW leaders, company executives and managers. There will be a range of F-150 Lightning models, with the starting price at $40,000 for the Lightning Pro, which includes destination charges. The Lightning Pro is billed as a work truck and features dual electric motors for four wheel drive. It only comes with the standard-range lithium-ion battery that can travel 230 miles. Lightning XLT adds a little more bling to the mix and costs $54,000 with the standard range battery.
The XLT with extended-range battery is a great way to boost the Lightning’s line. This is also the key to unlocking Lightning’s 563 horsepower, 320-mile range, and $19,500 more than the XLT base price. The F-150 Lightning Lariat offers a variety of batteries starting at just $70,000 for the standard-range model. The F-150 Lightning Platinum pickup is the most powerful and range-enhancing. It comes only with an extended-range battery, starting at $92,669
