This package also includes a skid plate and a leveling kit.
As the mid-size pickup moves into a new generation, the Chevy Colorado will be undergoing a major redesign. Chevy will give the pickup a new package called Trail Boss before it does. It was used as a package in the 2015 and 2016 model years. The Trail Boss is back, but this time it will be installed by a dealer.
Trail Boss does more than just swap out trim and badges. This pack contains a 1-inch suspension-leveling kit and front and mid-vehicle skid plates. It also includes black bow ties and badging, as well as red tow hooks. The front air dam is also eliminated by the pack. Although these are minor improvements, they make the truck more versatile off-road. The wheels are black ZR2 accessory wheels. Chevy does not indicate whether there are interior upgrades that can be added to the pack. Chevy will offer the Trail Boss Package on the Colorado’s Z71 and LT trims. The LT trim should have the 2.5-liter four-cylinder and 2.8-liter turbodiesels, as well as the 3.6-liter V6. Z71 only comes with the 3.6-liter, 306 horsepower (228 Kilowatts) and 277 pound-feet (372 Nms) of torque), while paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. This package will allow Chevy to fill the gap between the Z71/ZR2 which is more important than ever, as trucks grow in popularity. Chevy has not yet revealed the details of the package, nor when they will be available. Both details should be available closer to the 2022 model-year truck arriving on dealer lots.
