This stunning supercar looks even better in this color.

De Tomaso was established exactly 60 years ago. The automaker also celebrated its return with the stunning P72, 15 years after it was shut down. The sleek coupe was unveiled at the 2019 Goodwood Festival Of Speed. It features a Ford V8 engine that produces upwards of 700 horsepower (515 megawatts).

We are now waiting anxiously for the first 72 production examples of this prototype to arrive on the roads. This should be sometime next year. De Tomaso brought a beautiful prototype in baby blue onto the Concorso D’Eleganza Villa D’Este in Lake Como last weekend, further fueling our desire for this amazing supercar.

These images were taken by Freddie Atkins (who goes by the username TFJJ in Instagram). They show the P72 moving along Lake Como’s shores. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this particular blue on the P72. The same prototype was also photographed in Florida for The Amelia and the Miami Concours.

The exterior is baby blue and opens to a contrast white interior. It features quilted leather seats, a matching diamond-patterned aluminum center and around the instrument cluster. The same diamond pattern is found on the aluminum gear lever.

De Tomaso originally planned to build the P72, and all future vehicles at an American production plant. Pandemic-related disruptions caused the company to turn their attention elsewhere. Executives completed a new manufacturing facility and a test facility at the Nurburgring in Germany.

The first De Tomaso P72s should be available to customers by 2023, as previously mentioned. The company plans to produce 72 units worldwide in a limited production run, with each unit having an estimated asking price at $890,000. (EUR750,000).
