Only 47 examples have been planned for the US market.
Just a few weeks ago, the 2023 Polestar 2 was revealed. We didn’t know that the Swedish manufacturer had an unexpected announcement for the new model year. The new Polestar 2 BST Edition 270, part of the Polestar Engineered range of products, is the most road-legal version. It comes with significant performance upgrades and a competitive price.
The dual-motor electric powertrain has been updated to produce a peak output 476 horsepower (350kilowatts) as well as 502 pound-feet (680 Newton meters) of torque. Even more important is Polestar which promises “heightened responsiveness” in conjunction with “sportier dynamics”. The 78 kWh battery packs that power the EV powertrain are the same as the regular models.
Polestar also installs Ohlins two way adjustable dampers with an auxiliary adjustment chamber under the hood. The suspension upgrade also includes a new front strut bar, stiffer springs (20%) and a 25mm lower ride height. This limited edition electric sedan is equipped with 21-inch alloy wheels and 245/35-section Pirelli P Zero tires. The braking system has not been modified, and it still uses its four-piston Brembo brakes.
Thunder or Snow exterior colors are available, along with a contrast Charcoal WeaveTech inner. The Polestar 2 BST Edition270 is distinguished by its body-colored bumpers, side skirts, and side skirts. A matte black body stripe can be purchased for $1,000 to enhance the sportier appearance. The brake calipers, valve caps and seatbelts are finished in Swedish Gold.
Polestar will only produce 270 units for global markets of the Polestar 2 special edition. The special edition Polestar 2 will be delivered to US customers in the first half of next year. Production is expected to start in the middle of 2022. Prices in the USA start at $75,500 including destination and handling. A full optional wrap adds another $5,000.
