Ford Mustang Supercharged Brings Screaming American Muscle to the Autobahn

The supercharged Mustang GT was able to easily surpass its speed limiter on derestricted Autobahn.

The supercharged S550 Ford Mustang GT is perfect for driving on the open roads in Germany. AutoTopNL took the supercharged Mustang GT to the Autobahn in order to test its performance.

The Gen1 S550 Mustang GT’s naturally aspirated V8 engine, 5.0-liter, produces 435 horsepower (324 Kilowatts) & 400 lb-ft (542 Newton meters) of torque in stock form. Many Mustang owners feel that stock is not enough. This sentiment is supported by the wide range of accessories available for Ford Mustangs. The Roush supercharger boosts the power output of the 5.0-liter Coyote engine to 750 horsepower (560 Kilowatts).

This Mustang GT performs admirably as an Autobahn missile. This job is usually reserved for German sports sedans. The Mustang was powered by a 6-speed manual transmission, allowing it to reach speeds of 160mph (260 km/h) thanks to its supercharged V8. As 6th gear was an overdrive gear, it did not give any additional performance. This Mustang reached its top speed in 5th gear. Although the Mustang’s power was sufficient to reach 160mph, there is a limiter.

The S550 Mustang has come to an end. Teasers for the next S650 are already coming from Ford. With the S550 generation, the Mustang became a more powerful and usable muscle car. In 2015, the S550 was introduced. It included an independent rear suspension and turbocharged 4-cylinder base engines. The Mustang can now be sold worldwide.

Before the S550 Mustang, the Ford Mustang was an American icon. After international markets opened up, Ford Mustang became the most popular sportscar worldwide.

We hope that the Ford Mustang will continue to be loved by the world, with the S650 generation due to debut in 2023. What do you think the Mustang GT’s supercharged GT could do if there wasn’t a limiter?
