Zagato will only make five. This Concorso d’Eleganza was the first to receive the first delivery.

Waiting is a good thing. At the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2015, Zagato presented the Mostro coupe. The brand also introduced the Mostro coupe at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in 2015. This year, the owner also received the first production model.

When designing the Mostro Barchetta, Norihiko Hairada was inspired by two Zagato-made Maserati models. The 1931 8C 2500 Sport Zagato has the proportions of a long-hooded, short-deck car. The styling of the 1957 450S Coupe Zagato has a greater impact on the new model’s styling, such as the smooth sculpting at the nose and tail. For a look that recalls a speedboat, the side windows are tapered down.

Mostro Barchetta customers have the option of a 4.2-liter V8 naturally aspirated engine or a 3.0-liter twin turbo V6. There are two options for output: Zagato claims that there is a choice of 414 horsepower (309 Kilowatts) or 621 horsepower (463 kW). Borth powerplants are located under the hood behind the front axle, providing 50-50 weight distribution. Through a sequential manual six-speed gearbox, the power is transferred to the rear wheels via a six speed sequential manual gearbox.

Mostro Barchetta is built on a carbon-fiber chassis and a steel rear frame. The vehicle is only 2,646 pounds (or 1,200 kilograms) in weight. The suspension features a double wishbone design at both ends. Pushrods act on the adjustable coilvers. There are AP Racing six-piston calipers front and four-piston stoppers back for braking. The supercar is equipped with 19-inch centerlock wheels.

Zagato will make five Mostro Barchettas, the same number as the coupe’s production. The announcement by the company doesn’t include a price or indicate if the remaining four units are still available to order.

Zagato previously offered the Iso Rivolta GTZ, which had a very limited production run of only 19 units. The supercharged, Chevrolet Corvette-sourced 6.2-liter V8 produced 660 horsepower (482 kW) as well as 649 pound-feet (881 Newton meters) of torque. It was capable of reaching 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.7 seconds, and a top speed at 195 mph (315 KPH).
