You can add an optional 5-speed automatic gearbox to the vehicle.
Restomods, which are based on classic cars, are becoming more popular. Expedition Motor Company is one of the leading companies in this segment in the United States. Their new product is based on a 1991 Mercedes-Benz G-Class convertible. The 2022 250GD Wolf, also known as the “2022 250GD Wolf”, is a wonderful mix of classic off-road design with modern technologies that make it more practical for everyday use. The price starts at $160,000 and it is currently available for purchase.
The new automatic gearbox is one of the highlights of this build. It has many upgrades over the company’s previous G-Class restomods. The 250GD Wolf can be ordered with either a five-speed manual transmission, or an optional five speed 722.6 automatic, sourced from an S-Class. The gearbox is mated with the Mercedes OM602 straight-five cylinder diesel motor. This engine is a great match for the quiet and smooth five-speed automatic.
The vintage G-Class is given a new look with a Gulf Blue exterior coat. This is combined with black wheels and bumpers. The cabin now has modern features like an air conditioner and durable, all-weather Praline vinyl seating. A small infotainment screen is located on the center console and supports wireless Apple CarPlay functionality. It also has plug-in capabilities. There are also two cup holders that sit in front of your gear lever. All G-Class Restomods include front and rear heated seat.
Expedition Motor Company spent more than 1,400 hours on this restomod. It started with a complete nuts and bolts dismantling. The new fuel and brake lines were installed as well as brand-new body mounts. All axles, brakes calipers and suspension were completely rebuilt. The suspension now uses upgraded shocks, springs and custom polyurethane bushings to provide a more comfortable ride. Each G-Class Restomod comes standard with both front and rear locking differentials.
