This could be a great way to camp in the middle of the country, with a little help.
Pacific Coast Auto has sold another Toyota camper and released a video showing the vehicle in action before shipping to the United States. This 1989 Toyota Town Ace van has a camper conversion with a pop up top. Although it has a great look, the new owner must be able to perform some maintenance.
With its distinctive front end, the Town Ace exudes 1980s fashion. There are a few problems with this one, including service rust at the A-pillar and a lot of small dings around its body. The paint is also faded. The new owner may want to paint the house again and fix any imperfections.
Potentially, the engine has bigger problems. It’s a 2.0-liter diesel engine and needs maintenance. Coolant can leak from the radiator cap when the engine is running because of the gasket. Pacific Coast Auto also reports that the mill is low in oil. This is another sign that the camper might need to have a mechanic look at it.
This van features an automatic transmission which is quite rare for such vehicles. This could make the rig more useful for camping trips.
However, things are much better inside. Two couches offer ample seating. To make more space, a hinged table can be folded out of the way. A small kitchenette is available with a sink, refrigerator and stove. However, the cooktop has been removed from this vehicle. Pop-up tops provide additional sleeping space. Cool fact: The previous owner was a keen fisherman and left his lures on the dashboard.
