The first ever Miami Grand Prix is too exciting for the Mexican Minister of Defense.
Formula One will be visiting Miami for the first time. The Miami Grand Prix, the latest addition to the motorsport calendar, will take place in May.
Sergio “Checo”, Red Bull’s driver, seems to be quite excited about the race. He raced his RB18 F1 vehicle from New York City to Miami based upon a misheard instruction by Red Bull Racing principal Christian Horner – all captured on video (embedded below).
Checo, who is also known as the Mexican Defense minister due to his outstanding defensive performances in the 2021 season, encountered several obstacles on the way, including a parking ticket from Chinatown and a gnarly Crocodile in Everglades, Florida. The 11-hour journey was a two-stop affair. It was supported by Oracle Red Bull Racing’s racing crew and Byron Jones, a Miami Dolphins cornerback.
If you didn’t notice, Checo’s interstate travel with his F1 car in F1 is fictional. We might also see another DNF. This promotional video was made by Red Bull Racing for the Miami Grand Prix.
The Miami Grand Prix will take place at the Miami International Autodrome, a circuit built around the Hard Rock Stadium. It will measure 3.36 miles (5.41 km) in length, and has 19 corners. The average speed is around 139 miles an hour (223 km per hour).
From May 6-8, 2022, the Miami Formula One Grand Prix will take place. The motorsport series will be in Italy this weekend to host the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola Circuit.
Red Bull Racing currently occupies third place in the constructor’s rankings, behind Mercedes and Ferrari. Checo currently occupies fourth place in the driver ranking, which is currently led Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc.
