Vermont SportsCar began with a stock Impreza WRX STI. The company then gutted the interior and “lightened and seam-welded the shell for additional strength”. Finally, Vermont SportsCar installed a multipoint steel rolling cage. The company then added RECARO SPA PRORacer competition sports seats, carbon fiber doors panels and an onboard fire suppression device. Additional goodies include a Yakima FatCat 4 Snowboard Rack and a Yakima Landing Pad base.

A turbocharged, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with a MOTEC M800 electronic control unit produces 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft torque. Vermont also installed an enhanced engine and a five-speed KAPS ‘dog-engagement’ gearbox. A Subaru programmable DCCD all-wheel drive system was also installed. Custom machined hubs were also used. Group N competition rally dampers were added by EXETC.
