It will take a few more months for the truth to be revealed.
Maserati announced in July that it will have three trims for its lineup from the 2022 model year onwards. These trim levels will be available for all Maserati cars, including Modena, Trofeo and GT. Yes, the Maserati Grecale crossover will have these trims, as well as the popular Trofeo trim. Maserati North America CEO William Peffer confirmed this to The Drive. He is optimistic about the Grecale’s potential contributions to the market when it debuts in November .
The Grecale looks ready to take on its competitors, such as the Porsche Macan or the hotter Macan GTS. We could see the Grecale Trofeo, powered by the 3.0-liter V6 of the Maserati MC20. It produces 621 horsepower (463 Kilowatts) as well as 538 pound-feet (729 Newton meters) of torque in the supercar.
A mild-hybrid 2.0-liter engine would also be available. These engine options have yet to be confirmed. However, Maserati has confirmed that an electric version of the 2.0-liter mild-hybrid will be available later, following Maserati’s previous announcement.
The Grecale will be positioned below the Maserati Levante SUV. It will arrive as an SUV compact, which will expand the segment that is profitable in hopes of strengthening the automaker’s strategy. The strategy also includes the renaming trim levels. Modena is for those who want to find a balance between “innate elegance, dynamic, and fun-to drive” and Modena is for those who are looking for an “urban, minimal, and contemporary” brand; Trofeo represents the top of range and the most sporty of the bunch.
