Only 22 are being produced by the company.
Milivie 1 is a limited production Volkswagen Beetle Restomod. It aims to restore the original Volkswagen Beetle and add modern amenities. With a price tag of EUR570,000 ($598,244 per unit at the current exchange rate), the company plans to only make 22.
The Milivie 1 is clearly a major redesign of the original VW Bug. This vehicle’s nose is reminiscent of the 356. The headlights are replaced by halo-shaped LEDs. Other lamps are located closer to the bumper.
A ducktail spoiler attaches at the rear to the engine cover. Horseshoe-shaped taillights are also available.
The cabin has undergone a major overhaul since the VW. Drivers now have 12.3-inch screens with one bezel around them for the instrument cluster screen and infotainment screen. Display modes include showing analog gauges. There are many ways for users to charge their devices. These include wireless, USB, USB-C, 220-volt and USB.
The Milivie 1 was built using a VW Beetle 1303 donation vehicle. This variant was introduced in the 1970s and was significantly larger than the original Bug. They were sold in the USA as the Super Beetle for a few model years.
The builder then takes the vehicle apart to the floorboards. To rebuild the Beetle into this masterpiece, it takes more than a thousand hours. It also involves fitting a double-wishbone suspension to each corner. You can also have front and rear disc brakes.
Milivie 1’s flat-four, 2.28-liter air-cooled engine produces power. It also has a pair Weber carburetors and an electronic ignition. The mill’s output is not disclosed by the company. The power is sent to the rear wheels via a ZF 4HP four speed automatic transmission. There are three modes of gearbox: Sports, Manual, and Drive.
Due to the original Beetle’s 22 million unit production, 22 models were produced. Milivie will consult with customers and customize each car for them. According to company plans, it will deliver the first car in July 2023 and hand the last one over in May 2025.
