It is longer, wider, and lower than the MDX.
A new Acura is on its way. This teaser shows the main lines of the new crossover. The prototype will be unveiled on October 14. Acura claims that the fourth-gen MDX will be the brand’s flagship model. This feels like a downgrade to the NSX.
Jon Ikeda (vice president, Acura brand officer) stated that Acura is accelerating its commitment to Precision Crafted Performance. The fourth-generation MDX represents the most ambitious and consequential redesign in Acura’s history.
The teaser shot Matches up with trademark design images (gallery above). The front has a striking resemblance to the Acura TLX, with its sharp edges and pentagonal grille. The upper corners of your nose have slim headlights that are similar in shape to the Acura TLX. The crossover’s length is defined by a sculpted beltline that visually connects the lamps at each end to the taillights. According to the automaker, the new MDX is longer, wider, and lower than its predecessor.
Through the RDX’s Software Suite , we also got a alleged glimpse at the new MDX. It seems that the overall appearance of the crossover is consistent with the teaser.
A slide from Acura dealers shows that a performance-oriented MDX type S is also in the works by 2022. It is likely to share the turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 of the new TLX Type S. The powerplant produces 355 horsepower (265 kilowatts), and 354 poundfeet (408 Newton-meters) torque. It is equipped with a 10-speed auto transmission and the fourth generation Acura Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system.
